Hand-made, one of a kind earring made from the sustainably harvested feathers (and bones) of the Rainbow Macaw or "Guacamayo" (from the Peruvian Amazon). The Macaw represents the medicine of family, creativity, art, and the love of friendship ("amistad"). The proceeds from these sales go directly back to the artisans of the jungle, to support their craft and lifestyles. The indigenous people of Peru who made these earrings informed us that the birds need not be killed to obtain the feathers (which fall naturally), and they use the bones when a bird dies naturally. These birds are often kept at preserves and are protected under Peruvian animal protection laws. Earrings also feature the Huayuru seed, which offers protection from all negativity and strength, as well as the Capi, or "Yage" vine, which is a sacred master plant medicine for the people of the Amazon. The vine carries the feminine and healing spirit of Mother Earth and the jungle. Earrings vary in length, size and color slightly, as they are all one of a kind.
