Hand-made feather hair strand made from the sustainably harvested feathers of the Rainbow Macaw or "Guacamayo" (from the Peruvian Amazon). The Macaw represents the medicine of family, creativity, art, and the love of friendship ("amistad"). The proceeds from these sales go directly back to the artisans of the jungle, to support their craft and lifestyles. The indigenous people of Peru who made these accessories informed us that the birds need not be killed to obtain the feathers (which fall naturally). These birds are often kept at preserves and are protected under Peruvian animal protection laws.

Hair strands vary in length and color. These strands can also also be worn as belt accessories or put on a staff or wand.
