Color: Yellow
This shipibo embroidery tapestry is a hand woven, one of a kind textile which depicts the visions and songs of the Amazon jungle. Each weaving is either an icaro, a healing song of the amazonian plant medicines, or a depiction of a vision given by the plant medicines. This art carries the healing vibration of the plants and the ancestral traditions and knowledge of the Shipibo people. The tapestry is traditionally used by the tribal women as a wrap skirt, but can be used also as a mesa or ceremonial altar cloth, a wall hanging, tablecloth, or shawl. Size may vary slightly from listing. Sourced from the Shipibo people of Pucallpa, Peru. The proceeds from these sales go directly back to the artisans of the mountains, to support their craft and lifestyles.
