This beaded okama necklace is a hand-crafted and one of a kind ceremonial accessory. Crafted with love by members of the Emberá Chami Tribe of Colombia, each piece represents a sacred totem or vision given by the medicines and traditions of the region. Artisans are all ages, ranging from children- 5 years old, to grandmothers of 80+ years. Each artist infuses the jewelry with his/her intention and story, drawing inspiration from the ceremonial and natural world. Pieces are made over the course of many weeks or months, using hundreds of multicolored glass beads. Features beaded fastener clasp. Sourced from the Emberá Chami people of Colombia.
