With that territory also comes facing our demons, unearthing hidden trauma, experiencing tremendous fear, and finding ourselves confronted with a society that has yet to acknowledge and embrace these visionary states as legitimate, healing, or valuable. We like to tell people that the real work begins AFTER the journey ends when our habitual conditioning returns and we are being confronted with stepping into the person we had the vision of becoming. Tremendous resistance arises for people and it can be easy to slip into old patterns without proper integration work and support.
