With that territory also comes facing our demons, unearthing hidden trauma, experiencing tremendous fear, and finding ourselves confronted with a society that has yet to acknowledge and embrace these visionary states as legitimate, healing, or valuable. We like to tell people that the real work begins AFTER the journey ends when our habitual conditioning returns and we are being confronted with stepping into the person we had the vision of becoming. Tremendous resistance arises for people and it can be easy to slip into old patterns without proper integration work and support. There are also difficult experiences where we feel rattled, frightened, confused, and overwhelmed by the journey. Integration work here is of the upmost importance. The invitation through integration work is always to see every experience as an opportunity to move towards greater awareness, love, growth, maturity, responsibility, and compassion, regardless of what the experience initially invoked. Enhanced Understanding: Integration helps individuals process and understand the insights, emotions, and revelations Personal Growth: By reflecting on these insights, individuals often experience personal growth, gaining clarity about their values, relationships, and life goals. Emotional Healing: Integration can facilitate emotional healing, allowing individuals to confront and work through past traumas or unresolved issues. Improved Mental Health: Regular integration practices may reduce anxiety, depression, and PTSD symptoms by fostering a greater sense of self-awareness and emotional resilience. Stronger Relationships: Discussing experiences and insights with others can enhance communication and deepen relationships, fostering connection and empathy. Behavioral Changes: Insights gained can motivate individuals to make positive changes in their behaviors, such as adopting healthier habits or pursuing meaningful projects.
